Studio Terms and Policies

Please Note:

Tahere Vocal Studio is not responsible, financially or otherwise, for client’s failure to read the policies below upon registering for classes or lessons.

Trial lesson discounts are given at the sole discretion of the teacher, otherwise trial lessons are charged at the regular rate.

PRIVATE LESSON POLICIES:

  • BILLING

    • Payment for the first lesson is required when scheduling.

    • Lessons are pre-paid on a monthly basis.  Invoices will be emailed on the 1st day of the month, with payment due on the 8th of the month. 

    • In order for schedule changes to be accounted for on the invoice, they must be submitted in writing by the 23rd of the previous month. Any lessons cancelled within the parameters of the attendance policy will be credited to your account for the following month.

    • Payment is accepted via credit card (autopay is preferred), cash, or check (made out to Tahere Vocal Studio).

    • Any past due balances of 7 days or more will incur a 1% late fee. 

  • TUITION - As of August 1, 2025

    • $40 for a 30-minute voice lesson

    • $60 for a 45-minute voice lesson

    • $80 for a 60-minute voice lesson

    • 45- and 60-minute lessons are reserved for advanced students at the teacher’s discretion.

  • ATTENDANCE:

    • Skill and growth are only accomplished by long-term, structured study.  Students are required to attend every lesson.  Absences are acceptable, and a lesson credit will be issued in the following situations:

      • Illness or emergency (notice required by 9am on lesson date except in extenuating circumstances). Please keep in mind that if a student is well enough to go to school, they are well enough to attend their lesson.  There are many important activities that we can accomplish during the lesson that do not require intense singing.

      • Mandatory school activity (1 week notice required)

      • A rehearsal, performance, or audition (1 week notice required)

        • If rehearsals for a show will conflict with your lesson time for an extended period, please speak with your teacher about rescheduling your lesson time.

      • Religious reasons (1 week notice required)

      • Vacation/travel (1 week notice required)

    • If an absence occurs for a reason not listed above, or notice is not given within the time frame listed above, a credit will not be issued for the missed lesson and the lesson will not be made up.  Failure to abide by these policies on a regular basis will result in dismissal from the studio.

    • Students will not be charged for lessons that the teacher needs to cancel.  These cancellations will typically be planned in advance.  In the event of an unexpected cancellation on the teacher’s part, students will be issued a credit for the missed lesson.

    • Since David is also a performing artist, The Studio reserves the right to occasionally pivot to virtual lessons if necessary due to performance schedules or faculty illness. Any lessons cancelled due to this policy will be considered unexcused.

    • Due to a full teaching schedule, makeup lessons typically cannot be given for absences.

    • It is expected that students who are reserving a weekly spot in the studio will make voice lessons a priority and schedule other activities around their lesson time.

    • During the school year, school-age students are assigned a regular weekly lesson time based on mutual agreement of schedules.  It can be difficult to accommodate changes so please consider carefully when scheduling.  

  • PREPAREDNESS

    • Students are required to bring the following to every lesson:

      • Published music books as determined by the teacher

      • Three-ring binder to hold any photocopied music

      • A notebook/looseleaf paper in the binder to write down weekly assignments

      • All elementary and middle-school voice students are required to purchase the appropriate level theory workbook as determined by the teacher

      • A recording device to serve as accompaniment for practicing warm-ups and songs

    • Regular practice is a necessity getting better, so every student is required to complete daily practice sessions

      •  For young/beginning students, practice should be at least 20 minutes each day (time spent completing theory assignments counts as practice). 

      • For older/advanced students, practice should increase to a minimum of 30 minutes each day and should include exercises as well as songs.  Please provide a practice environment free from distractions.

  • DISCONTINUING LESSONS AND EXTENDED LESSON BREAKS:

    • If you plan to discontinue your lessons, change the frequency of your lessons, or take an extended break from lessons, 30 days written notice is required or fees will be charged for the missed lessons.  Your courtesy in this matter is appreciated.

CAMP AND GROUP CLASS POLICY:

For camps and group classes, tuition is due upon registration. If you need to cancel your registration, please notify via email 14 days prior to class start date or you will be charged the full fee. Please note: No refunds or credits will be given if a cancellation is made after this date. No makeups, refunds or credits are given for missed classes.

STUDENT PHOTOGRAPHS AND VIDEOS:

Student photographs and videos may be used in Tahere Vocal Studio promotions/advertising. To opt out, please email a request to studio@davidtahere.com. In the event that a student name will be used, Tahere Vocal Studio will obtain written permission from the student and/or parent.

LIABILITY WAIVER:

I HEREBY ASSUME ALL OF THE RISKS OF PARTICIPATION IN THIS CAMP/CLASS/CLINIC ACTIVITY OF Tahere Vocal Studio, LLC. I certify that I am physically fit and adequately healthy to participate in this camp/class/clinic activity, and I have not been advised not to participate by any qualified medical professional. I certify that there are no health-related reasons or problems which preclude my participation in this camp/class/clinic activity. In consideration of my application and permitting me to participate in these activities: (A) I WAIVE, RELEASE, AND DISCHARGE Tahere Vocal Studio, LLC, its directors, officers, employees, volunteers, representatives, and agents, from any and all liability for my death, disability, personal injury; property damage; property theft; or actions of any kind which may hereafter occur to me, including, but not limited to, harm or injury in traveling to and from this camp/class/clinic activity. (B) I AGREE TO INDEMNIFY, HOLD HARMLESS, AND PROMISE NOT TO SUE Tahere Vocal Studio, LLC, its directors, officers, employees, volunteers, representatives, and agents, for any and all liabilities or claims made as a result of participation in this camp/class/clinic activity, whether caused by it or their negligence or otherwise. I understand that in this event or related activities, I may be photographed or my image may be made. I agree to allow my photo, video, or other likeness to be used for any legitimate purpose by Tahere Vocal Studio, LLC for no renumeration or payment.

This Waiver and Release of Liability shall be construed broadly to provide a release and waiver to the maximum extent permissible under applicable law. Further, in the event any part of this Form is rendered or declared invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction in the State of Georgia or State of Tennessee, such invalidation shall not invalidate the remaining portions thereof, which shall remain in full force and effect.

BY MY CONTINUED PARTICIPATION IN LESSONS/CLASSES/ACTIVITIES AT TAHERE VOCAL STUDIO, LLC, I CERTIFY THAT I HAVE READ THIS DOCUMENT AND I FULLY UNDERSTAND ITS CONTENT. I AM AWARE THAT THIS IS A RELEASE OF LIABILITY AND A CONTRACT AND I SIGN IT OF MY OWN FREE WILL AND INTEND THAT I WILL BE LEGALLY BOUND HEREBY AND THAT TAHERE VOCAL STUDIO, LLC SHALL RELY UPON IT.
